What are the dangers of email links?
Phishing
Phishing is the term used to send an email that contains a link to a fake website. When you visit a website, users are tricked into exposing sensitive information.
For example, clicking a link will take you to a fake website like a bank and try to log in with your username and password.
Malware or virus download
Clicking this link may take you to a website that infects your computer with malware such as ransomware. Alternatively, you may download the virus directly without
visiting a web page. Malicious websites are the most common way computers get infected in your daily work.
Hacked email account
When a spammer hacks your email account, you can send an email to all the contacts stored in that account. This is dangerous because you may receive phishing
emails that are actually sent from someone you know. Unless the email looks unusual, there is no way for you to know.
Email spoofing
Spoofing is essentially a fake. You can spoof the "From" address to make it look like it's from someone you know, even though it's actually from the malicious person's
email account. Determining if an email address is spoofed can be very difficult or impossible. Email headers that are themselves vulnerable to tampering need to be screened.

If you received an unexpected email from the bank. You may be told that you need to log in and handle important things. Don't click the links they give you. If you do not
know it is coming, there is no guarantee that it is a legitimate email.
If your friend sent you a link you didn't expect. Don't click on it. Be aware that the sender's address can be spoofed or your account can be hacked.
